Launch of Made By Hand Cheltenham in association with Period Living

Director of The Contemporary Craft Festival and Made By Hand Cardiff, Sarah James is set to launch the newest event in her prestigious portfolio; Made By Hand Cheltenham bringing her successful and much loved mix of designer makers, demos, workshops and craft based attractions to the heart of the popular Cotswold Town.

In partnership with The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, New Brewery Arts in Cirencester and Cheltenham Trust, Period Living, Hereford College of Arts, madebyhandonline.com and craft&design.net, Made by Hand Cheltenham is all set to take place in the iconic location of Cheltenham Town Hall on the weekend of the 10th and 11th March 2018.

Sarah James, who has been leading the way in the highest quality craft fair world for the past 13 years, says “The Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey, Devon is one of the finest in Europe and Made by Hand Cardiff is the highlight of the Welsh craft calendar. I am delighted to be expanding our portfolio of events to Cheltenham and look forward to working with our new partners, The Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen, New Brewery Arts, Cheltenham Trust, Craft&Design.net and madebyhandonline.com. Together we are very much looking forward to providing a stunning platform for contemporary craft, as well as welcoming makers and visitors to Made By Hand Cheltenham for its maiden year in March 2018.

Whilst the final line up of over 90 makers and attractions is yet to be announced, Sarah’s Cardiff and Devon events will provide plenty of inspiration for Cheltenham plans to offer the same exciting festival feel and highlights including multi-discipline workshops, craft demonstrations and children’s craft activities.

But first and foremost, Made by Hand Cheltenham is all about giving modern makers a wider platform, retailing amazing and accessible handmade arts and crafts, and showing how they can fit seamlessly into our modern, everyday lives.
